I had the chance to play with it today at work and I was extremely impressed to say the least.  The s90 provides DSLR quality photos with a point and shoot body.  It's unique: you can zoom with the normal button on the back of the camera, but you can also zoom by rotating the lense. It's awesome! Canon isn't stupid though.  They didn't release this awesome camera for a shallow price, I believe it retails around $420. (no pun intended)
